In this video, a pedestrian is walking across the street when a traffic collision occurs.  Due to the "safe zone effect", the person runs toward the danger because there is less distance to perceived safety.  This causes him to run directly into the path of the vehicle.

Had he just stopped when he heard the collision, he would have been safe.  In most case, his reaction would have led him away from danger, but in this instance, the reaction hurt him.​​
